Zine Ozmen Akkaya has been playing the violin since Year 1 in the Music Masters programme. Throughout her primary school years, she participated in a wide range of musical activities, including orchestral concerts and the Pathways Pro Corda Residential at Leiston Abbey (May Half-Term 2022), and performed in many orchestral concerts.
Zine continued her musical development beyond school by attending the Guildhall Young Artists (GYA Kings Cross) programme during 2022-2023, supported by a scholarship.
After finishing primary school, in September 2023, she has been studying at the Royal College of Music Junior Department with a scholarship. She has achieved ABRSM Grade 5 in Violin Theory and is about to complete Grade 8.
She has performed in numerous orchestral concerts during this period such as in addition to taking part in the masterclass led by Randall Goosby at the Southbank Centre on 3 May 2024, the London Benedetti Sessions 2025, the Intermediate Orchestra, Music Masters and the Royal College of Music’s fundraising event at the Garden Museum 2025, the Young Grittleton Programme 2025, the Music Masters Christmas Winter Fundraiser in December 2025, and other events. Moreover, Zine joined a performer’s platform on the 28th of June at the Royal College of Music (pupil of Sophie Simpson), Pablo de Sarasate - Spanish Dances, Op. 23: No.1 – Playera.
Zine is also part of the National Children’s Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra 2026.
Zine continues her music career with great enthusiasm, whilst aiming to obtain a music degree as part of her journey towards a Bachelor of Music (BMus).
